Chandigarh municipal body gets Rs 3 crore for urban advancement

The service of urban improvement (MoUD) has given Rs 3 crore to city company for administration of India’s prestigious plan – Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). The sum is 20% of the principal portion of Rs 15 crore for State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) for 2015-2016.


The community body has officially arranged an arrangement to execute work with the primary portion. The MC designing wing has likewise arranged time span of every errand.

The work under the primary portion incorporates bringing of more water structure Bhakra Dam through Kajauli trench, moving of sewer line from Mauli Jagran, development of another park in Sector 50 An and B.

“These works will be finished according to the due dates. As the time allotment has been imparted to the service of urban improvement (MoUD), it will screen every errand,” said a senior MC officer.

The focal government will discharge Rs 377 crore under the AMRUT plan to the Chandigarh organization for a long time. How effectively the functions are executed will be checked in the Smart City venture.

The plan was dispatched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2015. The center of the urban recharging tasks is to set up base that could guarantee sufficient hearty sewerage systems and water supply for urban change.

On the off chance that required, the service may consolidate different plans like Swachh Bharat Mission, Housing for All 2022, alongside nearby state plans like those identified with water supply, sewerage and other infrastructural plans with AMRUT.
