The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has finalized the compensation amount to be paid to private entities in lieu of land it has acquired for the construction of two Metro stations on the Dilshad Garden-New Bus Stand Metro corridor.
The proposed amount has been finalized after discussions with land holders. On Friday, the bid was presented for approval to a district administration committee, in accordance with an order issued by the state government in March 2015.
According to the order, state government departments can negotiate with land holders over the price of land sought to be acquired. The total negotiated price if under Rs 10 crore needs the district administration’s green signal. GDA sources said a sum of Rs 7.5 crore has been finalized for 1,200 sqm additional land that will be acquired for the construction of Raj Bagh and Shahid Nagar Metro stations.
GDA said it has handed over the land already available with it for DMRC to build the two stations. However, construction work was stuck because the additional 1,200 sqm was also needed.
“The committee will ensure that prices for land to be acquired, do not violate provisions of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013,” a district administration official said.
