An FIR has been lodged under Section 302 (murder) of IPC at Loni police station. A 50-year-old property dealer and a 33-year-old woman were shot dead in two separate incidents in Ghaziabad on Sunday. In both the cases, the killers are at large.
“Hazi was taken to GTB Hospital, Delhi, where he succumbed to his injuries. We don’t know the reason behind the attack,” said an officer.
Police said property dealer Hazi was on a motorcycle when he was shot by assailants on a bike, 2 km from his home in Pavi village in Loni on Sunday.
In another incident, Babita Yadav was shot inside her house in Akbarpur-Behrampur, allegedly by nephew Vinay (30). Her children were at home, but not husband Vijender. “Vinay shot Babita in the kitchen. The bullet went through her arm and pierced her abdomen. Before the kids could react, he fled in a car. The type of gun used is not clear,” said Vijender’s cousin Zile Singh.
Later that evening, Vijender filed a complaint at the Kavi Nagar police station, but police, who suspect a family dispute behind the murder, are yet to lodge an FIR.
