Orders probe into ‘encroachments’ on forest land by Asaram’s trust

Chief Minster Virbhadra Singh today directed officials to inquire into allegations of encroachments on forest land by Asaram Bapu’s trust in Kunja Madralia village in Paonta Sahib sub-division where an ashram had been constructed.

cmThe issue was brought to his notice by mediapersons here today during an interaction.

The Chief Minister said he was not aware of any such issue but if the allegations pertaining to the encroachments on 14 bighas of forest land were found correct, the officials should rid the forest land of encroachments by demolishing the buildings.

Virbhadra directed the Superintending Engineer, PWD, to enquire into the poor condition of the Nahan-Kumarhatti National Highway and directed officials to ensure its completion by March.

He said the elevation of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi would fail to have any impact in Himachal Pradesh.
